Spotlight - Holderness & Bourne

About

Holderness & Bourne, the go-to brand for premium apparel and accessories inspired by the game of golf. These guys know how to blend classic style with modern fit and performance, giving you the best of both worlds.

Who are the masterminds behind this fantastic brand? Meet Alex Holderness and John Bourne, the dynamic duo who founded the company based on their shared passion for golf. Having grown up around the game in North Carolina and on Long Island, they have a deep-rooted love for everything golf-related.

But here's the thing—Holderness & Bourne is not your average golf apparel brand. These guys couldn't care less about flashy logos and hyper-athletic looks that dominate the market. Instead, they believe in letting the quality of their products do the talking, with branding that is subtle yet sophisticated.

When it comes to shirts and gear, simplicity is key. Holderness & Bourne focuses on exceptional fabrics and outstanding cuts that will make you look and feel your best. Their shirts feature a cutaway collar, giving them a dressed-up vibe while maintaining ultimate comfort and playability. And guess what? No logos in sight. They let their craftsmanship speak for itself.

These guys understand the frustration of having to choose between the two when it comes to golf apparel, so they decided to give you the best of both worlds. Now you can have that timeless look with a fit that flatters your physique with a classic style and tailored fit.

So, whether you're a golf aficionado or just looking to step up your fashion game on and off the course, Holderness & Bourne has got you covered. Their collection of top-notch products is constantly growing, ensuring that you'll find the perfect pieces to build your ultimate golf wardrobe.

US Open Preview

  • The U.S. Open returns to Los Angeles after a 75-year hiatus, with the prestigious golf championship taking place at the newly restored North Course of the Los Angeles Country Club. The West Coast setting has a reputation for delivering thrilling tournaments, and top golfers like Jon Rahm are excited about the event. Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick aims to secure back-to-back victories, while Tommy Fleetwood and other top-ranked players seek their own "Hollywood ending" in the quest for a major win.

  • Brooks Koepka is focused on winning his sixth Major, specifically the US Open, and is not letting the distractions of the PGA Tour/PIF merger affect him. He is in good form and enjoying the chaos leading up to the tournament. Koepka believes that Major championships are what golfers are ultimately remembered for, and he aims to reach double-digit Major wins in his career. He thrives in challenging conditions and enjoys playing in Majors where par scores are good. Koepka has overcome significant off-course struggles due to injuries and feels like a new person after his recent PGA Championship win. He hasn't paid much attention to the merger news and is solely focused on the US Open. However, he admits that the news came as a surprise, and there are a few tournaments he would like to play again if given the chance. Koepka is paired with Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama for the first two days of the tournament.

  • Los Angeles Country Club will feature a significant challenge for players, particularly on the par 3 holes. The 11th hole stands out as the second-longest par 3 in tournament history, measuring 290 yards. Additionally, the seventh hole is a 284-yard par 3. The eighth hole at Oakmont remains the longest par 3 in US Open history, with five of the top spots belonging to it. However, the seventh and 11th holes at Los Angeles Country Club will break up Oakmont's monopoly on the longest par 3s. Overall, it promises to be a challenging week on the par 3s at the US Open.

  • The good guys from The Fried Egg talk to Gil Hanse and Geoff Shackelford, who led a restoration of Thomas's version of L.A. North. They discuss the course, touch on its history, and talk about how it will challenge the abilities of the world's best golfers. It is a great watch to give you some understanding of what lays ahead of the players leading into the 123rd U.S Open.

  • Jay Monahan, the commissioner of the PGA Tour, has temporarily stepped away from his day-to-day responsibilities due to an undisclosed medical condition. This comes after Monahan recently faced controversy over brokering a major deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) following a contentious battle with LIV Golf. The deal caused uproar among players, some of whom called for Monahan's resignation during a heated meeting. As Monahan focuses on his recovery, two senior executives, Ron Price and Tyler Dennis, will assume leadership roles within the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, criticism and scrutiny surrounding the PIF deal persist, with concerns raised by players and politicians, including investigations by the US Justice Department. The stress resulting from these events may or may not have contributed to Monahan's medical condition.

  • US Open tee times - Players are set to embark on their rounds at Los Angeles Country Club. The tournament will feature a staggered start, with groups teeing off from both the 1st and 10th tees. The action kicks off early in the morning, with the first groups going out as early as 6:45 AM Pacific Time. Most notable group in my option would have to be Rory, Brooks and Hideki.
