About
Today, let’s chat about Kevin Burns Golf – a brand that’s as much about passion as it is about precision. It all started in a small garage in Mountain View, California, back in 1989. Initially a club repair company, Kevin Burns pivoted to designing putters in 1991, driven by his quest for unmatched quality and craftsmanship. The journey wasn't smooth sailing, though. Frustrated with outsourced manufacturing not meeting his high standards, Kevin took a bold step. He invested his home savings into a milling machine, setting off on a self-taught journey of machining and mastering putter artistry.
Fast forward a bit, and Kevin’s dedication bore fruit. The model 9301 was born, a perfect blend of artistry and engineering, crafted from a single steel billet. But Kevin didn’t just stop there. He continued to innovate, making waves in the golf industry like no other putter maker had before. A notable milestone was in 1996 when he introduced a putter with a copper insert, a first in the industry. That same year, Kevin Burns Golf hit a major breakthrough at the Nissan Open when Craig Stadler won using a Kevin Burns Signature Series 9304 putter. It was a moment of validation and triumph for the brand.
1999 was another landmark year for Kevin Burns Golf. Kevin pioneered the use of tungsten metal for putter weights. That year, José María Olazábal clinched The Masters using a Kevin Burns Signature Series 9304 putter. And the innovation didn’t stop. Kevin partnered with Bridgestone Golf Japan in 2001, creating the acclaimed Tour Stage line of putters. By 2015, Kevin introduced the "Kustomized Series," featuring a state-of-the-art biometric fitting machine that offers a tour-level fitting experience, tailored to each golfer's unique needs.
