With a star studded field boasting 9 out of the top 10 best players in the world - Cam Smith being the only player not playing due to his affiliation with the tour that can’t be named… If you were wondering that is.

First place with $3.6m, Second $2.18m and Third cracking the Milly as well winning $1.38m. Even placing 65th will net you a tidy $43k just to make you feel shit about how little your job would pay for four days work.

It all kicked off yesterday and surprise surprise your current leader is.. Yes of course it is Jon Rahm. The man is in some kind of zone shooting a 7 under 65 leading the pack by 2.

These days collecting stats isn’t limited to the pros. Thanks to companies like Arccos Golf, players of all abilities have the necessary tech to track their game. Greens in regulation

Average golfer - 23% or 4 of 18

Scratch golfer - 56% or 10 of 18

Pro - 66% or 12 of 18

Average golfer - 0.4 birdies, 4 pars, 8.9 bogeys, 5.7 double or worse

Scratch golfer - 2.2 birdies, 10.5 pars, 4.6 bogeys

Pro - 3.6 birdies, 10.5 pars, 2.67 bogeys
