Here we go

Good morning and here we go for another instalment of the daily tee off. Your probably not playing golf so let’s read about it instead…

Here’s what we’ll be touching on today:

  • LIV Golf round 1 - Mexico

  • Spotlight - Brandon Matthew Putters

  • Some socials satisfaction

Round 1 Mayakoba Mexico

With last weeks offical start to the LIV Golf’s season saw the golfing word erupt back into a fierce debate over what they believe to be right or wrong with the new competition but frankly does it really matter? What matters to me is the golf and we have some unbelievable talent walking the fairways.

Now coming from a guy that hasn’t even got close to breaking par I find these extremely impressive. Let’s dive into the numbers real quick and appreciate how good these guys are:

24 Major titles won

13 different major champions

5 holding multiple trophies

Brookes Koepka with two back-to-back efforts. Holding the US Open 2017 and 2018. The PGA Champion in 2018 and 2019.

Henrik Stenson winning silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics

Phil Mickelson with 57 total career wins

21 rostered player have won 10 or more times worldwide.

You have to congratulate Charles Howell lll and the Crushers on the victory because golf is hard, even more so when you’re up against that kind of calibre.

Brandon Matthew

Will you have a look at that!!

About: Brandon grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and has dedicated his life to design & art. His background is not in machining or engineering like most club builders, but has taught himself the art of metal working over the past few years. For over 20 years Brandon has worked as a Creative Director, Art Director, Graphic Artist, Photographer, and Web Developer. Brandon is also a published author and is credited with ESPN, MLB, CBS, and many online media outlets. His two sporting books are used as reference guides for the FBI, The National Baseball Hall of Fame, Sports Authenticators, and Premier Auction Houses.

Being left handed, he found the right, or "the cool" equipment was hard to come by. Fast forward twenty something years where he wanted a flowneck Anser style putter head, not available in left hand from the big companies, Brandon decided to try building one on his own. Finding a knack for dissecting putters and welding his own necks, he started custom building and refinishing Scotty Cameron and other name brand putters to accomodate the left handed player. Over the past few years, hundreds of left and right handed players have sent their prized flat sticks to Brandon for refurbish and customization.

The passion to build custom putters recently grew into launching his own brand. With emphasis for the forgotten lefty, Brandon builds custom putters for left and right handed players, vowing to be inclusive of both dexterities and creative in his one-of-a-kind putters. Brandon uses the best materials and state of the art machines, while maintaining the craftsman element in the finishing process. From hand shaping and polishing, welding, and hand stamping and marking. Brandon Matthew putters are made to be gamed, from Amatuers to PGA Professionals, all handcrafted in Huntington Beach, CA • USA.
