About

Jamie and Richie, the best friends who are the founders of todays spotlight brand, 30 South. And the two are on a mission to create sustainable sunglasses for adventurous lifestyles.

Their goal is simple yet powerful: to become a role model company that sparks positive change while putting the Earth, our oceans, and their customers first. In their pursuit of sustainability, 30 South is currently transitioning their entire sunglasses range to be made from reclaimed ocean waste. By doing so, they not only help clean up the oceans but also aim to inspire the eyewear market to be more eco-friendly.

Now let's talk about their current lineup of sustainable sunglasses. Head over to their website and let your eyes feast on the Originals RE, the Venturas RE, and the Trail RE. Crafted from recycled ocean waste plastic, these sunglasses not only look incredible but also feel amazing and perform just like the champions. When you wear a pair of 30 South sunglasses, you're not only making a style statement but also making a positive impact on the environment.

But how did this journey begin? Well, the idea for 30 South was born in 2014. Since then, Jamie and Richie poured countless hours into research, tirelessly worked on over 200 rejected prototypes, and never wavered from their ultimate goal.

The name “30 South” comes from the line of latitude that stretches across the width of South Africa, from the Indian Ocean in KZN to the Atlantic Seaboard of the Cape. This name represents their connection to the beautiful landscapes of South Africa and the adventurous spirit they infuse into every pair of sunglasses they create.

So, if you're ready to make a statement with your eyewear while embracing a sustainable lifestyle, 30 South is the brand for you.

How hard it is?

With the PGA Championship at Oak Hill finally under way after a 2 hour frost delay we get out first look at how the course plays. In typical PGA Championship fashion the greens will be extremely challenging and the rough will be terrifying. But have you ever wondered how an 18-handicap golfer would handle this major tournament?

Let's be honest, there are plenty of factors to consider: tricky weather conditions, hole locations, and the luxury of having a caddie to assist with reading greens. But even with a little help, shooting equal to your handicap might be a tall order.

The guys at the DP World Tour social team asked none other than Jordan Spieth, Billy Horschel, and Thomas Detry to share their thoughts on how amateur players like you and I would fare in such demanding conditions. After all, who knows better than these pros, who witness regular golfers tackle PGA Tour conditions during weekly pro-ams on Tour?

Hear what Spieth and his mates had to say.

From around the socials

Alright that’s a wrap for the week. I’ll catch you bright and early in the Monday morning. 🍻
