Community to buy links course

Links Golf Club, an online-based golf collective with over 5,400 members, has entered into an exclusivity agreement to purchase Spey Bay Golf Club in northern Scotland. The sale price for the course is listed at AUD$1.4 million, with the transaction expected to close higher.

Links is a decentralised autonomous organisation comprised mostly of young, tech-forward millennial and Gen Z golfers from around the world. The club prioritises owning its own golf property and has raised enough outside capital to fund this acquisition and potentially others. Links attracted the initial group of its membership through an NFT drive. The founders describe Links as a modern, inclusive membership that is looking to spend their discretionary income on unique golf experiences. The plan is to make Spey Bay into a destination for the Links membership and serious golfers travelling between Aberdeen and Inverness. The sale is currently in the due diligence phase, and the closing is expected in early April.
