I’m excited to introduce you to Mackem Golf, a brand that has taken their passion for quality, classic fabrics to create unique, handmade golf head covers. With backgrounds in design and fashion, the small team based in Perth, Western Australia, has brought their product to life by designing, developing, and making all of their items in-house.

The name Mackem Golf comes from co-founder Adam, who hails from Sunderland in the UK, where people are known as Mackems. One of the stories behind the name is that it came from the shipbuilding industry in the early 1900s. People from Sunderland would make the ships, and they were then taken away to get engines fitted. With the North Eastern accents, they would say “mack ’em,” and they would “tak ’em.” Eventually, the term Mackem stuck. Mackem Golf chose this name because they make the head covers for you to take and enjoy.

Mackem Golf takes pride in their quality, craftsmanship, and longevity of their products. Their main sources of inspiration are tapping into the traditional side of golf, inspired by Scottish Tartan mixed with a locally made twist and a moody color palette drawn from beautiful landscapes all around the world. They personally pick and source all of their fabrics from a range of different suppliers and use a wool blend fabric to keep a natural water resistance and longevity of the fabric. The tactile nature of the fabrics adds a touch of luxe to any bag.
